About

2020

Stopping Traffick was founded in 2020 amidst

the challenging backdrop of the COVID-19

shutdown. Its inception was driven by the

unwavering determination of Breighanna, who

had always harbored a desire to utilize her

personal journey as a beacon of hope for

others, although the exact timing

remained uncertain. Together with

close friends and family members,

Stopping Traffick emerged with a

heartfelt mission to effect change

within their local community.

2021

In 2021, the organization embarked on a

mission to gain insight into the landscape of

human trafficking within Alabama. Efforts were

dedicated to researching existing organizations both

locally and statewide, with a particular focus on

understanding the gaps in aftercare services available to

survivors. Through this process, Breighanna discovered

a glaring deficiency in resources, particularly in regions

south of Birmingham. Motivated by this revelation, she

actively engaged with local leaders to explore avenues

for improvement.

2022-2023

Over the following two years, Breighanna conducted

numerous meetings with organizations and government

officials, fostering collaboration and advocating for

increased awareness. Her dedication extended to a

speaking engagement tour across the state, reaching

over 1.5 million individuals and even securing a platform

on national television through a FoxNews interview.

2024

As Stopping Traffick approaches 2025,

the organization sets its sights on a

significant long-term endeavor: the establishment of a safe home. This

aspiration has been central to Stopping

Traffick's mission from its inception.

Breighanna, who initiated the

organization fresh out of high school,

has since gleaned invaluable insights from

various stakeholders and forged

collaborations with statewide entities.

Armed with this knowledge and a network of

partnerships, Stopping Traffick is poised to play

a pivotal role in the fight against human

trafficking along the Gulf Coast.
