Our mission

Prevention. Advocacy. Real support for survivors.

Stopping Traffick exists to end human trafficking through prevention, advocacy, and direct support for the people it harms. We start conversations in schools, churches and community rooms across Alabama, push for laws that take victims seriously, and raise funds that meet survivors' immediate and long-term needs.

Our long-term goal is a dedicated facility on the Gulf Coast where survivors can find safety, care and a path forward. Every donation moves us closer.

Three ways we fight back.

Awareness, advocacy and action. Each one matters on its own; together they change outcomes for real people.

Awareness

Every rescue starts with someone who knows the signs. Our speakers bring honest, age-appropriate conversations about trafficking and online safety to schools, churches, civic groups and conferences across Alabama.

Advocacy

Hope, scholarships, a helping hand and fundraising for survivors rebuilding their lives. We stand beside victims and their families when the system tells them to go home.

Action

Changing the legislation, so no victim is ever told their case is going nowhere. Changing the stigma, so more people come forward. Changing lives, one at a time.

Our why

It started with one family that refused to take no for an answer.

“The local officer told them there was nothing they could do, and that the case would go nowhere. Her parents would not accept that.”

Our founder, Breighanna Vigor, was targeted by an online predator in middle school. What happened next, and what her family did about it, is the reason Stopping Traffick exists.
