Stopping Traffick focuses on three important core principals including advocation, awareness and action. We implement advocation by striving to give survivors of human trafficking a newfound sense of hope . We do this by granting them scholarships as well as working with local organizations that can provide adequate aftercare. Schooling is not easily accessible for most individuals and we like to be a helping hand by assisting them achieve their scholarly and career dreams. By establishing fundraising events and having generous donors, we allow our organization to reach a quality dollar figure before granting a scholarship.
Human Trafficking is not an easy topic to talk about. Many do not know how or when to start the conversation. Our team recognizes this and has taken initiative to start the conversation. With two credible public speakers, Stopping Traffick has been able to reach 150,000 individuals thus far, participating in over 40 speaking engagements. We are always willing to speak at any event or occasion deemed appropriate for the conversation in hopes to inspire individuals to start having open and honest conversations.
Our end result is action due to the ever growing demand for change. Stopping Traffick is on the pathway to infiltrating legislation where action will be the leading factor in conversation. This includes local and federal agencies so no other victim will be told "your case is going nowhere". We hope to change the stigma that victims are pinned with so that more individuals come forward. Most importantly, we hope to be the light for change. As we shine light on these different areas of exploitation of human trafficking, it changes the world. And if one does not change the whole world at once, it changes one child's life. One adult's life. And when you can help impact one person's life- you've changed their world.
